This place's tagline was "food for inspiration." Food is my inspiration, and this restaurant is just good. It's in an trendy area outside of Detroit, known as Royal Oak. The city has a downtown with cute restaurants and shops. Well, we stumbled across this place at about 2:00, while they were still open. They serve breakfast till 3 and lunch from 11 till 3. Then they close and reopen at 5 for dinner.
Since it was a nice day, we sat out on the patio. I had a chocolade koffie stout beer. It really had a chocolatey taste. It wasn't overbearing. It was very drinkable.
I rarely order soup, but this one sounded too good too be true. It was exotic mushroom bisque. it was so good. If you like mushrooms this is to die for. It was topped with goat cheese and had basil essence.
G had the quiche of the day. This particular day it was "salmon, red onion, scallions, & gruyere cheese served with tossed greens.:
I went with the burger severed with gruyere potato salad. The potato salad was good, but I couldn't taste any cheese. I had the burger medium. It was served with "thinly sliced spicy capocallo ham & provolone and served with lettuce & tomato on a grilled pretzel bun." I loved the ham on top and the cheese.
The food was awesome.
