495 Tennessee Street
Memphis, Tennessee 38103
Memphis has been having pop up shops in various areas to help redevelop certain areas. Overton Square had a pop us Christmas shop a couple of years ago, and now Overton Square is thriving. I believe Broad Avenue started this way, too.
Downtown, there is a brewery that was built in 1890. It closed in 1954, and has ben vacant ever since. It's a beautiful building overlooking the Mississippi River.
About 5 weeks ago, the brewery building opened to generate interest in the building. It is in danger of being demolished. This weekend is the last weekend, so if you haven't gone, hurry!
One room features an area to get locally brewed beer.
Another room features games like ping pong, ladder golf, and corn hole.
There are also some awesome looking chairs made from tires.
There is an open air sitting area that often has live music.
There are also a few food trucks, so that you don't go hungry and/or to soak up some of the beer! I had tacos one day that were really good.
I hope that this structure can be saved. I like what is going on temporarily a lot. It was a lot of fun, and there are always lots of people.
