Holiday Inn Bar

Holiday Inn Bar
447 Farmington Ave
Louisville, KY 40209

This post is a bit unusual, but worth a post.  A few weeks ago, we went to Louisville.  I really like the 4th street Live area.  It's in their downtown.  It's basically a strip of restaurants and bars.

While there, we stayed at the Holiday Inn.  The hotel was average quality.

However, what made this experience fun was the bar.

Check out that price.  It's hard to beat $2.  The mint julep in reality wasn't very good.  It was premixed. I had a few.  Garrett couldn't even drink the one.  I'm sure they would be better if they weren't premixed.  I guess a mint julep is the official drink of the Kentucky Derby or something.  It's basically bourbon and mint liquor.

Eventually, we swapped to Maker's Mark.  We had Kentucky bourbon in Kentucky.

The bartender was actually really good.  He gave us a sample of some high end bourbon.  He was really chatty and friendly.

So... if you are in Louisville, this hotel is good.  The drinks are cheap (if you get the special).

We ended up going out afterwards to a different bar: Teddy Bears.
